This Bread Dipping Oil is so yummy and a nice little snack to hold you over until dinner! ( as long as you don't over indulge, which is easy to do with this one! Lol!) I do mine a little differently , meaning, I don't add all the EVOO into the Garlic. I leave the Garlic separate and add a small amount to my plate, then, I pour some oil over it. This version is for 3 or 4 people, but, I've also minced up a whole head of Garlic when we have had a dinner party to make enough for everyone. Either way, it's a crowd pleaser at my house!
INGREDIENTS:
6 Garlic Cloves, finely minced
3-4 leaves Fresh Basil, finely julienne sliced or minced
1 small pinch of salt
1 small pinch of Cracked Black Pepper ( 3 or 4 turns of the grinder)
EVOO
Balsamic Vinegar
Crushed Red Pepper if desired
1 loaf of Crusty Bread of your choice, cut up into small pieces
Mince the Garlic and put into a ramekin , add the Salt , Pepper , Basil ( and Crushed Red Pepper if using) mix together with a spoon until fully incorporated.
Put a small spoonful on an appetizer plate, pour the EVOO over the Garlic mixture until the Oil starts to pool around it. Then, pour about a 1/2 tsp ( eyeball it!) of Balsamic Vinegar into the oil.
Grab a piece of crusty bread or two and dip away ! Make sure to get that wonderful garlic on your bread as you mop your plate! Don't forget to pop open a bottle of wine to go along with it! Enjoy!
This looks so deliciou! Just took some screen shots so I can make this here at home. thank you for sharing!
